Google to Facebook: Gmail can be social too

Google this week is upgrading its Gmail program to add social media tools similar to those found on Facebook. Google will incorporate photo and video sharing within the Gmail application, along with a new tool for status updates.


Google is having a press conference Tuesday in at Google headquarters in Mountain View to show off the new Gmail features. We'll fill you in on more of the new features Tuesday.

Videos shared on Google's YouTube and photos from Picasa will also be viewable within Gmail.
